heading out

We have had a wild couple of weeks... it rains in Seattle... no really, it RAINS.  A couple of weeks ago a storm blew through that brought torrential down pour!!  It was the Saturday night that we got our Christmas tree, it was raining when we brought the tree home, so it was a bit wet.  We set it up, had a ball, and went to bed... no big deal right? That night is when the beefy part of the rain came down. In the morning Jeff left early to go hunting and when I got up and walked into the kitchen, I noticed that our floor was wet, I thought maybe it was from the Christmas tree, but the more I felt around I realized that about 5 feet out from our wall was absolutely soaked with water... and outside the rain was still coming. Over the next couple of days the wall started bubbling and peeling back, it was not looking good.  I was afraid of mold starting to grow.  We looked up info on mold and discovered that it only takes 48 hours for mold to grow and it grows best in, damp places, that have little air circulation and not too much light... did I mention we live in a basement? so I started to freak out, imagining my baby coming out with only one arm because of mold inhalation.  I told our landlord I did not feel comfortable staying there until she could have it checked.  I think our basement has had mold the whole time :/

So that is how we ended up in Ballard in another rental that our landlord provided for us.  After praying over the situation and asking God for direction we really felt like it was God's timing for all of this to happen. We were able to break our lease without any penalties and get ALL of our deposits back in order for us to move home.  That is where we have been headed we just weren't planning on going so soon. But, it has all worked out for the best!  We are leaving on January 7th to start our journey back to sunny Californian! We can't wait to be back, we came, experienced Seattle, enjoyed it, but learned it's just not for us.  We know God brought us here for a reason, and He has done AMAZING things in our marriage since we have been here, but it is time to head out now.

We are excited to welcome our baby into the world with our family surrounding us, we have grown to realize just how lucky and blessed we are to have such great family!  So, the countdown is on, the packing begins, and the excitement builds!  I love how God turns things like a flooded house, into paths that lead us down his plan.  He is so strange the way he orchestrates things sometimes, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Thank you Jesus, for taking care of us, for providing for us and being everything that we need!
