What We Are Up To

We have been up to a few things here and there! We are still waiting on some job things to come through, but as we wait we are doing some things in the mean time!  We have realized you cannot exhaust yourself to the point of being stressed out while looking for a job, sometimes you just need to take a little break and breathe! I have been so proud of Jeff, he has really been going all out looking for something, and I know that it is just a matter of time before God totally blesses us with a great job!
I finished the card box I started for Jolene's wedding!! After many hours of cutting, and hot gluing, and BURNING the poo out of all of my fingers, it is finished!! I actually think it turned out really pretty and wish I would have thought of this idea for my own wedding! crafty eh?? The colors of her wedding are obviously purple and silver, I think they are pretty elegant together!  I have been filling out invitations, addressing them, licking them and stamping them, making chocolate suckers, tying ribbons galore!! Her shower is this Saturday, it should be really nice, it has been fun to help out!

Owen is growing and doing great! I feel him all the time bouncing around in my belly, kick boxing, doing karate, and being rough and rowdy!! we have a mover on our hands! I LOVE it! I love watching my belly move and jolt, and feeling exactly where he is at! I have switched to taking my prenantals at night, so that has helped a TON with not feeling sick from them. We had a doctors appointment on Monday with the doctor that Debbie works for.  He is really a wonderful doctor and was very nice for seeing us.  We are still waiting on our MediCal to come through so in the meantime I am getting prenatal care from him, so I don't have to go to a clinic, I am very thankful for that! Hopefully it will come soon, I have turned everything in and am now just waiting!  Owen has a large collection of clothes, and it just keeps growing!! Grandma LOVES to buy Owen clothes! "Hey Grandma, how bout me?!" Just kidding, I got a super cute dress from granny! :)

I love dreaming about Owen wearing this outfit and holding Daddy's hand.  We will see who he looks like, no matter what I know he will be a handsome little boy, but imagine, a little strawberry blond boy??!!

I have been wanting to learn how to crochet for a long time, and my sister Lexy finally taught me! It is so fun, and so EASY!! Well, there are definitely some mess ups in my beanie, but overall for my first project, my first time ever crocheting, I'd say it came out pretty good! Lexy is a wonderful teacher, we spent 3 hours at Starbucks, crocheting and talking about life. I love her so much, and I am so happy that I get to see her all the time! I cant wait to put this little bean on my sweet boy's head!

We have been reading to Owen too! I pretty much cry at all of the stories, I still am pretty hormonal and cry easy at lots of things.  I love when Jeff reads to Owen too! I just love all of the bonding that is going on even before he is even out of my belly! We love him so much and just can't wait to meet him!! The doctor said my belly measures 2 weeks ahead and questioned me as to if I was sure of how many weeks I was. He did his little circle chart and said I was where I thought 25 weeks, but that my belly measures 26/27 weeks... I think Owen is going to be a thanksgiving turkey!!! We might just have a big boy on our hands! More squish to love on!! :)
Look at that belly!!!

We went to Calvary Chapel Canyon Hills again over the weekend and really enjoyed it, we even were approached by a couple who knew us from mutual friends, they invited us to a couple bible study on Friday nights! I think we are going to keep checking out the church a few more times, but I thought it was neat to be approached and welcomed! God has been teaching me so much lately, about different things, I have been praying that His word would come alive and that he would give me eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart to learn and soak up.  It has been awesome being in my Bible daily and meditating on God's word throughout the day! I have also been reading "The Dangerous Duty of Delight", by John Piper, it is a really, really good.
It has been one of those books that I have to read over paragraphs, over and over to really take in what he is saying.  This has just really stuck out to me the past couple of days and is what the entire book is about:

"God is most glorified in us, when we are most satisfied in Him"

It has really caused me to think about my joy and where it comes from, and that walking with God in his plan and following the life that he calls me to lead is what brings the most joy, and that joy does not come from doing but experiencing what God asks from us. That we get joy from being who he created us to be. We are our best selves when we are walking with Jesus. Another thing that was so amazing, and it really is a simple thing was this, the same creator who breathed life into the world, is the same creator who has breathed life into me... I feel like I just have to stop and really sink my teeth into that. wow. God really loves me, that's just all, he really loves me.

For this I am so thankful.

XOXO Katy.

  1. I spotted at leaset 3 outfits in Owen's closet that Jude has :) You guys have good taste! Also, I was going to tell you that you have to get the book "On the Night You Were Born" by Nancy Tillman. It is the absolute best book for babies ever.
