the days of being sick continue...

It seems like right when things were looking up for me… they started going down.  A few weeks ago I finally entered the stage in pregnancy that you read about in the books, when you start feeling better, you regain your energy and get that “glowing” feeling.  Well at the beginning of last week, I started feeling sick, only this time it wasn’t pregnancy sickness, but just plain old sick.  I spent all of last week with an intense smoker’s cough, the kind where sticky friends make their way up…ewwww I know! I thought for sure my nose was going to run right off of my face, and that there was some sort of little demon in my throat scratching it 24-7!!!
What makes it all the more worse is that there is almost nothing you can take when you are pregnant at least none of the “good” stuff! I was trying so hard to not take anything even the things that are on a safe list, given to me by my OB, but then after several days of suffering I gave in.  I took some Robitussin to ease my cough.  And I feel SO BAD. My little baby has drank Robitussin. I am a terrible mother!!! L I did so much research online and repeatedly checked the list over and over just to make sure and asked the doctor and it is still safe, but nothing could ease my worried feeling as I drank the green, awful tasting mix.  I am finally feeling a bit better, and by a bit I mean the fancy friends that I was coughing up have finally subsided.
Last night I tried to sleep minus the meds, it was rough. Couldn’t fall asleep until past midnight and then was up every hour with terrible dreams of some crazy man electrocuting my stomach!! I think it is my subconscious fear of my baby being affected by the Robitussin. All this to say;

Pregnancy and colds- not good.
