Ocean Shores

This past weekend Jeff and I took a much needed over night trip to Ocean Shores!  It is only about 2.5 hours from Seattle, so it is not too far of a drive to get to the ocean! We were so excited all week for adventure to start, but then we heard that there was going to be a really bad storm that was going to hit right in the area we were staying. We decided we would just go for it and head out on a little adventure! After the nice ride through beautiful WA, in our super comfy new ride we made it to this quaint little town!  It was such a different beach experience, it is small and not over crowded at ALL!  Jeff really out did himself and got us a really nice hotel room right on the beach with a private balcony and an ocean view! (thanks honey!) such a good man.

We spent our weekend relaxing with an awesome view, checking out the town, discovering yummy spots to eat, and Jeff got to get in the water and surf with his friend Jared. We picked up an awesome hand carved pirate looking guy for our house!

The beach was beautiful, it had rolling sand dunes that led right into the ocean!  This is Jeff and I in our fancy room :)
The weather man was spot on too, the storm did come and it did blow 70mph winds that woke me up during the night.  It poured rain and even hailed! but we didn't let that stop us from enjoying our time there!
Jeff found an awesome pub called Elk's Head, a man owns it and brews all of his own beers, Jeff really like it and I thought the guys was the nicest bar tender ever!
He even got to fill a growler to take home and share with friends!

I was so glad that Jeff got the chance to surf, it really revitalizes him to be out there in the water!
While the boys surfed I caught some action shots from the sand, it was SO cold and windy! They aren't kidding about the PNW winter... it is so different from CA, I bet in CA I could still be wearing capris!
We ate at a yummy breakfast cafe called Amici's it was so tasty, mmm... come back to me breakfast burrito!
It was just so nice to get out of the city and relax, I am certain Jeff wants to settle and plant some roots in a place with lots of land and open spaces, he is just kind of a country man.  I actually felt refreshed after our weekend, and I even got to paint my nails! We definitely would like to head back to Ocean Shores someday in the summer time!

Nothing like a good ol adventure with my husband.. such a good weekend!

I will add some more pictures soon...
